ST. JOHNSVILLE – Carol. J. (Fontana) Putman, age 69, a lifelong resident of the Village of St. Johnsville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, August 24, 2013 in St. Mary’s Hospital, Amsterdam. Carol was the Executive Director of the St. Johnsville Housing Authority for 25 plus years. Her loving family was at her side. She was born on March 28, 1944 in Amsterdam, daughter of the late Augustio and Angelina (Vesp) Fontana and attended St. Johnsville schools. She was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School, Class of 1962. Carol went on to attend CCBI; Central City Business Institute of Syracuse. She formerly attended St. Patrick’s Church. Survivors include her children: Jacquelyn Schaffer and her husband Shane of St. Johnsville; Jennifer Putman Scripter of St. Johnsville; and Michael Putman and his fiancée Amy Sager of St. Johnsville; grandchildren: Julian Schaffer, Madeline Scripter, Grace Scripter, and her grandson ‘on the way’ Eric; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. Carol was also blessed with very special friends in her life, including Jon “Jack” Putman of St. Johnsville and her closest best friend Nancy Hollenbeck of Seneca Falls. She also had a great love for her beloved Chihuahua dog: Chi Chi. She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Lorraine Putman and her sister, Josephine LaCoppola. The family has selected the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street, St. Johnsville to assist them during this difficult time. Visitation at the funeral home on Center Street will take place on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 from 6-8 PM at which time the family will be present. A prayer service will be offered at 8 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Johnson officiating. Interment will take place in the family plot at St. Johnsville Cemetery at the convenience of the family. It is the wish of the family that donations in memory of Carol be considered to the organization Autism Speaks. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and information may be obtained from autismspeaks.com. The staff of the ICU at St. Mary’s Hospital was wonderful. A special thank you also to Rev. Francesca (Frances) “Chickie” C. Aiello, 92, a long time resident of Herkimer, passed away peacefully, Sunday August 25, 2013, in the Little Falls Hospital, Little Falls, with her loving family by her side. She was born on February 4, 1921, in Pianopoli, Italy, the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Stella Fazio Aiello. Chickie was a graduate of Herkimer High School. Chickie dedicated her life to her parents and family with assisting them in the operation of the family own business where she was the produce manager for Aiello’s Supermarket in Herkimer. Chickie was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer and was a member of the Crafty Ladies, Herkimer. She was a master at baking and always enjoyed making many different types of cookies for all of her family and friends to enjoy. Chickie was a strong kind hearted woman, a woman before her time and a pillar of her family. Her most joyous times were spending them with her family especially the generations of nieces and nephews whom she treated as her own children. Throughout her life, Chickie loved every one that came into her life and had no problem showing it. Although she has left us, her love and memories will carry on forever in the hearts of her entire family and her many dear friends. She is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Frank and Margaret Aiello of Naples, Fl, Angelina and Antonio Giuliano and James and Concetta Aiello, all of Herkimer; her nieces and nephews and their spouses, Mary Carol and Stephen Brockett of Herkimer, Donna Aiello of Naples, FL, Francine Aiello of Arizona, Frank Aiello, Jr. of Naples, FL, Joseph and Joan Giuliano of Newark, Tina and Scott MacKenzie of Herkimer, Thomas and Kyra Giuliano of New Port Richy, FL, Jonna and Raymond LaMarco of Ballston Spa, Jamie and Donna Aiello of Whitesboro, Thomas and Nancy Aiello of Herkimer, Joseph and Evelyn Aiello of New Hartford, Gary and Romy Aiello of Hewitt, TX, Denise Aiello of Bridgeport, CT, Valerie Aiello and Michael Turner of Taylorsville, KY and Jennifer and Brian Milligan of Naples, FL; her sister-in-law, Bella Aiello of Herkimer; her several great nieces and great nephews; her great great nieces and great great nephew and several cousins. She also leaves her very near and dear friends, George F. Aney and Anthony and Carolyn Belmonte. Chickie was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Aiello and her brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Sheila Aiello. Chickie’s funeral will commence with an offering of a prayer at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from the chapel of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington Street, Herkimer and then 9:30 a.m. at Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, S. Main St, Herkimer, where her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Thomas Lawless, Pastor. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, where she will be laid to rest in the family plot. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer. The family has asked to kindly consider contributions in Chickie’s memory to the George F. Aney Home, Herkimer or Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer. HERKIMER: Mary Rose Stuber, 92, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013 at Little Falls Hospital. Born in Utica on June 10, 1921, Mary Rose was the daughter of the late Louis and Magdaline Pinto. Raised and educated locally, she graduated from St. Mary of Mount Carmel School, Utica. On June 10, 1950 she married John E. Stuber with whom she was devoted to until his passing on January 3, 2001. Mary enjoyed the outdoors and she and her late husband loved to fish. She is survived by her step daughters, Diane Taylor of Buffalo, Carol Able and husband Richard of Durhamville, Mary Lou Martin of Herkimer and several grandchildren. A graveside service will take place on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer where she will be laid to rest next to her husband John. Herkimer-Arizona: Candra (Fineout) Britton, of Arizona and a former resident of Herkimer passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013 in Arizona. Candra was born on March 19, 1954 in Herkimer, NY, a daughter of Harold and Eleanor Fineout. She graduated from Herkimer High School in 1973 and later graduated from Herkimer County Community College in the late 1990's. In 1973 she married Wayne Britton and had three sons, Michael, Paul and Harold. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1999. Candra is survived by her sons; seven siblings: Tom, Bruce, Kathy, Michael, Jeff, Steven, and Lori; grandchildren: Joshua, Maryann, and Candra Britton; and daughters-in-law: Laurie Britton and Samaria Britton. The family will receive relatives and friends during visitation at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road (Town of Frankfort), Ilion on Friday evening, August 30, from 5-7 PM. The evening will conclude at the funeral home chapel with a service conducted by Pastor Samuel Luce of Redeemer Church, Herkimer Road, Utica. Mrs. Jennie C. Foster 94 a resident of Parkside Court 53 South Main Street Dolgeville, died Sunday evening September 1, 2013 at her residence with the love and support of her family at her side. She was born in the town of Little Falls, on October 24, 1918 the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Marcewicz) Nalaskowski and was educated in Eatonville schools. Her marriage to Harry F. Foster Sr. took place on October 2nd, 1938 in the Baptist Church in Little Falls. Mr. Foster predeceased her on February 26, 1996. Mrs. Foster had been employed by both the Little Frocks Dress Company of Little Falls and retiring from the Daniel Green Company of Dolgeville in 1981. She was a member of the former St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Fairfield and Middleville, the Salisbury Center Fire Company Ladies Auxilly and personally enjoyed bingo and gardening especially flowers. Surviving her is a son and his wife Harry and Betty foster of Salisbury, her daughters and their husbands Diane and Clinton Helms of Las Vegas, Elaine and John Stanley of Alaska and Karen Borst and her companion Stephen Prentice of Freeville, NY, a Brother William Nalaskowski of Canadarago Lake, 19 Grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren and two Great Great Grandchildren, Nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by her sons James on March 18, 2010 and Thomas on October 11, 1991 her great grandchildren Bradley Borst, John StanleyIV, Jason Foster, and a brother Joseph, and her Sisters Helen Miller, Mary Pavalock, Stella Peteskovek, Bessie Golowicz and Lottie Mettot. Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 4th, 2013 at 1PM at the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville. Rev. Joseph A. Famulare of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Little Falls will officiate. Burial will follow in the Salisbury Rural Cemetery. HERKIMER: Anne A. Bokowski, 81, a lifetime Van Hornesville resident, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Mohawk Valley Health Center with the love and support of her family. Born in Yonkers, NY on September 20, 1931, Anne was the daughter of the late Paul and Anne (Duga) Kucerak. Raised and educated locally, she graduated as Salutatorian from Van Hornesville High School. In July of 1951 she was united in marriage to Peter Bokowski with whom she shared a wonderful and loving relationship filled with great affection and admiration for over 40 years until his passing in 1995. Anne was last employed at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown in the housekeeping department and prior to that worked at Williams Furniture. She also assisted her husband in running the family dairy farm in Van Hornesville. Anne was a selfless, loving, caring woman who was always concerned about the needs of those she loved. She was a loving wife, who took care of her husband; a dear mother and a proud grandmother. At home she enjoyed cooking, playing cards, gardening and had a love for cats. A very quiet and happy person, she will be missed by all. Anne is survived by a son, Peter Bokowski and wife Susan of Hopewell Junction, her daughters, Bonnie Harrad and husband Jim of Van Hornesville, Kathleen Bellotti and husband Louis, Darlene Lanzatella , Karen Belgrader and husband Dan all of Liverpool; her beloved grandchildren, Tammy Sorensen and husband Ken, Kimberly Steenburg and husband Jon, Amy Hawkes and husband Steve, Steven Bokowski, Mark Bokowski, Victoria Bokowski, Melissa Bokowski, Kaitlin Lanzatella, Peter Belgrader and Courtney Belgrader; her cherished great grandchildren, Andrew, Emma, Jon Dylan, Dylan, Laken and Anna; her brothers, Paul Kucerak of Ilion, John Kucerak and wife Janet of Richfield Springs, Daniel Kucerak and wife Dawn of Michigan and her sisters, Elizabeth and Olga Kucerak both of Virginia. She also is survived by her in- laws, Gloria Jones, Geri Bokowski, Marilyn Ackler, Beverly Kucerak, George and Mary Jane Bokowski; a special friend, Florence Moore and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers, Milan and Steve Kucerak and her sisters, Katie and Elaine Kucerak. LITTLE FALLS-HERKIMER: Lena Jantosciak, 92, a long time Little Falls resident, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Folts Home, Herkimer. Born in Little Falls, NY on March 14, 1921, Lena was the daughter of the late Mike and Anna (Riznik) Rusin. She was educated in Little Falls Schools and on November 9, 1941 she was united in marriage to Steve Jantosciak at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, sharing 68 years of unconditional love and mutual respect until his passing on April 5, 2010. Lena worked for many years at Univac. She is survived by her sons, Paul Jantosciak of East Herkimer, Bruce Jantosciak and his wife Sue of Peach Tree City, Georgia; her cherished grandchildren, Brian and Lori, Adam and Jennifer, Kelly, Leslie and Jillian; seven great-grandchildren, a brother, John Rusin of Little Falls; her sisters, Frances Brinski of Amsterdam, Mary Tumski of Little Falls and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Rusin and a sister, Stafie Andrews. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no public calling hours. St. Johnsville - Cherry Valley: Mr. Jack D. Tompson, 79, of Campbell Road, Cherry Valley, NY and a former resident of St. Johnsville, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse. Jack was blessed with the support and presence of his loving family at the time of his passing. Jack received compassionate care from the doctors and nurses in the SICU at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Jack was born on February 10, 1934 in Little Falls, a son of the late Alvah G. and Zylphia M. (Countryman) Tompson Lenz. He attended St. Johnsville Schools and was a Graduate of the St. Johnsville High School, Class of 1951. Following high school, Jack attended Cobleskill Agriculture and Tech College, having graduated with his college degree in 1953. Following school, Jack enlisted with the United States Army. He served in Korea and was the recipient of a Good Conduct Medal and a National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1955. Jack was married to Janet Lee Suits of St. Johnsville on February 21, 1959. Together they had three daughters. On January 16, 1994 Jack joined in marriage with his wife of 19 years, the former Suzanne M. Webster. The couple celebrated their marriage in Binghamton, NY. Mr. Tompson worked as a financial adviser with Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown. Prior to that, he worked for Beech Nut in Canajoharie and Little Falls Hospital. Jack fondly remembered his ‘earlier years’ of employment with Palatine Dye. Jack was a member of Cherry Valley First Presbyterian Church, Cherry Valley American Legion, and was an over 55-year member of the St. Johnsville Masonic Lodge No. 611 F. & A.M. He was very ambitious throughout his life and was an avid worker around his home. He is survived by his beloved wife, Suzanne; daughters: Jennifer Whitney and her husband Todd of Duanesburg, Jill Tompson of East Syracuse, and Julia Tompson of St. Johnsville; grandchildren: Mac Tompson, Benjamin Czelusniak and wife Cana, Marcus Whitney, and Mitchel Whitney; two great grandchildren: Grace and Ella; and a brother, Tom Tompson of Tenessee; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jack is also survived by two stepsons: Michael Clapper and wife Kim of Springfield, and Ronald Clapper and his wife Jennifer of Maryland; a stepgrandson: John Czelusniak, Jr.; along with six additional stepgrandchildren and two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Kelsey Whitney and most recently by his mother-in-law, Myra R. Webster. Funeral services with military honors will be held on Saturday September 7, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church, 56 Alden Street, Cherry Valley, with the Rev. Ronald Fralick, Pastor, officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in the family plot in St. Johnsville Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street, St. Johnsville on Friday evening, September 6, 2013 from 5 until 7:30 PM. The brethren of the St. Johnsville Masonic Lodge No. 611 are asked to gather at the funeral home to conclude the visitation with a ritualistic service that will begin at 7:30 PM. Joseph E. Granville, age 90, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at St. Lukes Hospice House, after a brief illness, with his beloved wife Karen by his side. He was born on August 20, 1923, in Yonkers, NY, the son of Washington Irving Granville and Dorothy Dartmouth (Crehore) Granville. Joe graduated from Todd School and Duke University. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy. Joe was founder and president of the Granville Market Letter, Inc. On May 4, 1981, he was married to Karen Erickson. Joe was a remarkable impresario of all that is Wall Street for over 50 years. He wrote 19 books and headlined both at Caesar's Palace and to a packed house at Carnegie Hall as he colorfully explained his investment theories sprinkled with humor and homespun philosophy. Joe preached his stock market doctrine from the pulpit of the Crystal Cathedral and even played in the Bob Hope Desert Classic golf tournament despite the fact that he could not golf! That was Joe, always irrepressible not knowing the meaning of the word "can't". For the past 32 years Joe and Karen have lived in Kansas City, MO, currently at the San Francisco Tower where they have become an institution as great and loving neighbors, always at the ready to babysit pets or hand deliver flowers to celebrate life events. Survivors include his wife, Karen; children; Lesile Joan Granville, Blanchard Irving Granville, Leonia Granville Weissman, Mary Beth Granville, Johanna Cushing Granville, John Hallock Granville, 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, Michael Margolis, Dr. Jerry Blythe, Kerry and Kevin Freeman, Don and Judy Applegate. He was predeceased by his brother, William, his son, Paul Granville and daughter, Sara Granville Smith. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at the San Francisco Tower, 2510 Grand Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64108, with Pastor Bob Spradling of the Maywood Baptist Church, officiating. LITTLE FALLS: Patricia A. (Pat) Long, 66, a long time Little Falls and St. Johnsville area resident, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Little Falls Hospital. Born on October 30, 1946, Pat was the daughter of the late Anthony and Katherine (Levi) Carroll. Raised and educated locally she was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School and also attended Cobleskill College. She was united in marriage to Tom Long on September 19, 1970 at St. Patrick’s Church in St. Johnsville with whom she shared a wonderful and loving relationship with. Pat worked for many years at Herkimer County BOCES as an account clerk, retiring November 2010. She also held a position at one time for the Little Falls Times and was currently working at Kinney’s Drugs of Little Falls and is a current member of the Little Falls Common Council. Pat was an avid bowler and enjoyed the casino and her trips to Atlantic City and the Bahamas with her husband. At home, she was an excellent cook, and was known best for her homemade macaroni. Spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren was most important to her and she will be missed by all. She was a member of the Little Falls American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and for many years was affiliated with the “kitchen crew” at St. Mary’s church hall. She was a parishioner of Holy Family Parish. She is survived by her beloved husband, Tom; a son, Tommy Long of Syracuse; a daughter, Meghann Zononi and husband David of Hatfield, MA; her cherished grandchildren, Cameron and Madison Zononi; her brother, James Carroll and wife Mary Ann of Utica; a sister, Joan Sargeant and husband Lawrence of Little Falls; her in-laws, Bob Long, Maryanne and Tony Rich, Cheryl Long, Joe and Kathy Long and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Richard Long. Harold E. Hay, Sr., 86 of Ilion and formerly of the Prindle Apartments, passed away peacefully , Monday, September 9, 2013, in the Siegenthaler Center, Town of Kirkland, with his loving family by his side. He was born on April 11, 1927, in Amsterdam, the son of the late, Almon and Helena Otto Hay and was a graduate of Amsterdam High School. Harold served in the United States Navy during World War II. On January 17, 1953, Harold married the former, Patricia “Pat” A. Taggart in Broadalbin, NY. Mrs. Hay passed away on June 14, 2013. Prior to his retirement, He was employed in the wood shop at Remington Arms, Inc., Ilion. Earlier in his career Harold was a master cabinet maker with Grieme Lumber Company in Amsterdam and later with the former Standard Desk Company in Herkimer. Harold was a member of the Crowley Barnum American Legion Post #25, Mohawk and the Michael Pliseck VFW Post #4915, Herkimer. Harold is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Simons of Ilion; his son, Daniel Hay and his wife, Beverly, of Taylor, PA; his brother, Gerald Hay of Ft. Johnson, NY; his sister, Barbara Stoddard and her husband, Jack McGirr of Schenectady; his eleven grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughters, Anne Moore and Emily Farrington; his son, Harold E. Hay, Jr. and his sisters, Helen Roberson, Geraldine Goldy and June Hall. Harold’s funeral will be held 4:00 p.m., Thursday, September 12, 2013, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd, Ilion, with Deacon James Bower, officiating. Interment will be made at the convenience of the family in Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion, where he will be laid to rest with his wife. ORISKANY – Kim Marie Jacobs, age 49, of Oriskany, NY, passed away, following a courageous battle, on Wednesday evening, September 11, 2013 at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, NY. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by the love of her family. Kim was born on December 2, 1963 in Syracuse, a daughter of Charles Brown and Barbara Jacobs Fitch. She attended Utica Free Academy, and at one time, lived in the Frankfort area. She was currently employed by the Oriskany School District, and previously at Waterbury Felt Company in Oriskany. Kim was of the Catholic faith. Kim was an avid traveler and enjoyed many camping trips. She loved animals, especially horses, and often went to Vernon Downs. Kim is survived by her beloved companion of over 20 years, Brian Lindfield, her step-daughters who loved her as their mother, Stacy and Michelle Lindfield and LeeAnn Sherwood; along with her favorite little ones, who affectionately referred to her as Momma, Tessa Reynolds and Tyler Windover. She also leaves her adored grandchildren, Justin Larmon and Madison Sherwood; her devoted aunt and uncle, Sharon and Jimmy Jacobs; many nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with special cousins, Cherie, Julie, and Jim; and her extended family, Norman, Tracy, Martin and Mary Jane Lindfield. She is also survived by her daughter, Jamie Lynn Piper; grandson, Nathan John Donlyuk and granddaughter, JaiLynn Felicity Rose Seelman; a sister, Karen (Brown) Serianni and her husband Ryan; brothers, Glenn G. Brown and his wife Dina and David A. Brown; and a cousin, Renee M. (Brown. She was predeceased by her grandparents, James and Doris Jacobs, and her stepfather, Ray Fitch. Mr. Irving E. “Junior” Boyer 77 of 425 Bingham Mills Road Stratford (Town of Salisbury) died Thursday evening September 12, 2013 at his residence after an extended illness. He was comforted with the love and support of his wife and family at the time of his passing. He was born in Salisbury center, on February 11, 1936 the son of the late Irving and Maggie (Walrath) Boyer Sr. and attended Dolgeville and Stratford schools. His marriage to Carol Slater took place on July 8th, 1961 in the Presbyterian Church in Dolgeville, the ceremony was performed by Rev. Percy dolling Pastor. Junior as he was known, was employed as a heavy equipment operator in construction for many years retiring in 1978 due to his health. He was last employed by Howard Darling Logging. He was also known as Mr. Fix It with small engine repairs at his home. He personally enjoyed camping with his family and he loved animals especially his dogs. He was a member of the Curtis Cornerstone Chapel in Salisbury. Surviving is his wife Carol of 52 years, his Sons and their wives Jeffery & Tammy Boyer of California, Brian & Tessa Boyer of Salisbury, Daniel & Donna Boyer of Stratford, Gregg & Rebecca Boyer of Lake Pleasant, A Daughter & her husband Pam & Doug Vedder of Stratford,17 Grandchildren 20 Great Grandchildren a special Great Granddaughter Destiny Daley a Brother in law Herbert Rockwell of Ilion, A Sister in law Beverly Harrigan of West Winfield. He was predeceased by his Brothers Leroy, Howard and Kenneth and his sisters Beatrice Daley and Lillian Boyer. Also there are several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday September 15th, 2013 at 4 PM at the Curtis Cornerstone Chapel with Rodney Congdon officiating. Burial will follow in the Stratford Cemetery. Mohawk: Mrs. Sieglinde A. “Linde” Pratt, 80, of Ward Road, Town of German Flatts, passed away in Faxton-St. Luke’s Health Care on Friday, October 25, 2013. Linde was born on July 8, 1933 in Bayreuth, Germany, a daughter of the late Albert and Hildegard (Schreiter) Mϋhlhäuser. She was educated in Germany and held an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. She has resided in the United States since 1947. In 1952, she and John B. Pratt, Jr. were married, and they shared a loving and devoted union of 54 years until his passing on October 25, 2006. Mrs. Pratt was the manager of Herb Philipson’s Army & Navy Store in Herkimer. She was a longtime member of the Lady ELKs. Linde is survived by her loving family: Robert J. Pratt of Mohawk, and Steven A. and his wife Suzanne Pratt of Johnstown; grandchildren: Victoria, Reid, Alexander, and Sarah; her brothers: Siegfried Mϋhlhäuser of CA, and Hans and his wife Erika Mϋhlhäuser of Germany; sisters-in-law: Myrta Sweet and Marguerite Bond, along with many nieces and nephews. FRANKFORT: Frank C. LaPuma, 73, a lifelong Frankfort resident, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 28, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center with the love and support of his family at his side. Born in Ilion, NY on January 14, 1940, Frank was the son of the late Peter and Mary (Maneen) LaPuma. Raised and educated locally, he was a graduate of Frankfort High School, Class of 1958. He furthered his studies by attending Albany College of Pharmacy, graduating in 1962 with a degree as a Licensed Pharmacist. On June 15, 1963 Frank married the former Mary T. Annotto at St. Anthony’s Church in Herkimer, sharing 50 years, a marriage blessed with an abiding love and devotion to one another and to their family. A successful retail pharmacist, Frank owned and operated LaPuma’s Pharmacy in Frankfort for 34 years. He also worked at one time at Mohawk Valley General Hospital in Ilion and more recently at Rite Aid Pharmacy, retiring in 2008. For over 50 years as a retail pharmacist, he enjoyed interacting with his customers and held an appreciation for the business aspects of his profession. Frank was knowledgeable, kind and patient –attributes that allowed everyone who knew him to love and respect him. His special accomplishments in life were raising his family of whom he was so proud and his day was complete if he could make others laugh, by telling a joke. Frank was always there to lend a helping hand. Proud of his Italian heritage, he loved to cook and share his dishes with others. During his leisure time he loved to fish, garden, and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. A confidant and good friend to many, he will be missed by all. Frank served as a past member of the Knights of Columbus Council #518, Ilion as a 4th Degree Knight, a member of the Mohawk Valley Pharmaceutical Association, past president of the Frankfort Library Board, a former member of the St. Francis Society, treasurer of the Boy Scouts, a member of the Frankfort Kiwanis Club, 1982 Kiwanian of the Year, a member of the little “Boys Club” and he enjoyed the monthly “1958 Lunch Bunch”. He was also a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort. Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; his sons, LtCol (ret) Peter LaPuma, PhD and wife Cheryl of Ashburn, VA, Col Alfonso LaPuma and wife Shannon of Hanscom Air Force Base, MA; his daughter, Mary Angela Geloso and husband David of Ilion; his cherished grandchildren, Michael, Nathan, Theresa, Annabella and Anthony LaPuma and Dominick, Vincenzo and Angelina Geloso. Frank is also survived by a brother, Tom LaPuma and wife Kay of Frankfort; in-laws; nieces; nephews; cousins; and special friends and neighbors, Mayme and Alan Kennell.
